Mr. Navin Surya is a serial entrepreneur and investor in the Fintech space in India. Mr. Surya has been known for revolutionizing the electronic payment solutions in India under the brand ItzCash. Mr. Surya joined Essel Group in 2005 and has since introduced India’s first ever Multi-Purpose Cash Card, ItzCash Card to enable customers in conducting seamless, safe, and simple financial transactions without the age-old constraints of time, space, and location. Under Mr. Surya’s leadership, Itz Cash Card Limited has won national and international accolades including “Innovative Use of Technology”, “Best General-Purpose Spending Card Program” and “the Most Innovative Prepaid Program” of the year 2008 for the “Octroi Automation Program”. After spending more than 13 years building the Company, Mr. Surya also led the complete exit of ItzCash to EbixCash for $130 Mn in 2017.

Mr. Surya is also the Founder of SoHum Bharat Digital Payments, a company formed to revolutionize digital retail payments in India in partnership with Infibeam (one of the leaders in the Payments space in India). Mr. Surya is also the Member of National Payment Corporation of India and Chairman of Fintech Convergence Council and Payments Council of India and is an active member of Prepaid International Forum (PIF) and a former member of GIRO Committee of RBI.

Previously, Mr. Surya was part of TCS as Management Consultant, where he worked on projects like ACC, GE Capital (UK) and UBS (Japan). Mr. Surya has a PG in Management with specialization in Finance.

Mr. Surya is a distinguished name in the Digital and Retail Payment Systems and FinTech in the country. He is also an Associate Member of Company Secretaries Institute (ACS) besides having a Graduation degree in both Commerce and Law from Mumbai University. Over last two decades Mr. Surya has undertaken many pioneering activities and some of them are key foundations for digital economy e.g. Cashless Trade Exchange for the country, India’s first digital wallet for Masses (real Bharat). Mr. Surya also is also an active investor & mentor in the Fintech space in companies such as Wizz, Zimyo, Tyke, FPL, Satya Microcapital etc.
